چکیده

MOTIVATION Model exchange in systems and synthetic biology has been standardized for computers with the Systems Biology Markup Language (SBML) and CellML, but specialized software is needed for the generation of models in these formats. Text-based model definition languages allow researchers to create models simply, and then export them to a common exchange format. Modular languages allow researchers to create and combine complex models more easily. We saw a use for a modular text-based language, together with a translation library to allow other programs to read the models as well. SUMMARY The Antimony language provides a way for a researcher to use simple text statements to create, import, and combine biological models, allowing complex models to be built from simpler models, and provides a special syntax for the creation of modular genetic networks. The libAntimony library allows other software packages to import these models and convert them either to SBML or their own internal format. AVAILABILITY The Antimony language specification and the libAntimony library are available under a BSD license from http://antimony.sourceforge.net/.

Contributions of Kumaravadivelu’s Language Teacher Education Modular Model (KARDS) to Iranian EFL Language Institute Teachers’ Professional Identity

This research aims to investigate the contributions of KARDS (knowing, analyzing, recognizing, doing, and seeing) to Iranian English as a foreign language (EFL) institute teachers’ professional identity reconstruction. The researchers employed purposive sampling to choose twenty teachers. A KARDS questionnaire (Hassani, Khatib, & Yazdani Moghaddam, 2019a, 2019b) was used to classify the teacher...

The Dule Module System and Programming Language Project

The Dule project is an experiment in large-scale fine-grained modular programming employing a terse notation based on an elementary categorical model. The Dule module system remedies the known bureaucratic, debugging and maintenance problems of functor-based modular programming (SML, OCaml) by introducing simple modular operations with succinct notation inspired by the simplicity of its semanti...

Multi-level modelling in the Modelverse

In this paper, we introduce the Modelverse, a metamodelling framework and model repository. It clearly distinguishes and supports physical and linguistic conformance relations and allows for deep characterization and deep instantiation using potency. We introduce language fragments, which are reusable pieces of a language definition, consisting of an abstract syntax definition, as well as the d...

A Modeling Language for Hybrid Systems

The general hybrid systems modeling language (HSML) described here will serve two purposes: to define formally what is meant by the term “hybrid system”, and to provide the basis for language-based “front ends” for hybrid system simulation environments. Features of HSML include: hierarchical, modular construction of models; consistent yet distinctive definition of continuous-time, discrete-time...
